Merv Budd
Senior Pastor
 
Merv Lives with his wife Lisa and has been serving as Sr. Minister since 2001. He has two grown, married children. Merv completed a bachelor’s degree in theology from Ontario Bible College (now Tyndale University), a Master of Divinity degree from Regent College, and is hoping to graduate with a doctorate of Practical Theology degree from McMaster Divinity College in 2023. He is part of a bowling league in the winter, he loves to golf in the summer, and he is always up for a game. He also serves as the Ontario Regional Director for the Forge Missional Training Network. Merv has a deep passion for the local church to embrace its evangelistic calling, corporately as well as individually. He is a champion for seeing the Church in Burlington grow in unity and leads the Burlington Evangelical Ministerial. Merv can be contacted at merv@nbbc.ca
 
Wayne Dewhurst
Worship Arts & Discipleship Pastor
 
 
Wayne and his wife Michelle are intentional about building community in using their gifts of leadership, compassion and creativity. They have parented four foster brothers and now raise their own two children in their home in the Palmer neighbourhood. They have been in pastoral ministry since 2000 in a variety of churches and ministries. They have managed a few businesses in the design and build industry. Wayne has his BA in Pastoral Studies from Moody Bible Institute and is nearly finished a MA in Psychotherapy. He enjoys playing music and many sports. He is always up for a board game or video game. He spends any extra time gardening, on the street and fixing up the house. Wayne connects our church with the community through events, interactions and with the City of Burlington.
 
Shari Markovich 
Children & Family Ministry Pastor 
 
 
 
Shari and her husband, Randy, are the parents of two teenaged children and one high maintenance dog. Beginning her career as a teacher, God surprised Shari by calling her into ministry to children in her local church. She has now been in pastoral ministry for more than 20 years and loves working with children, youth and their parents. Shari has her teaching degree, as well as her MDiv in counselling. Besides serving at the church, she is a Registered Psychotherapist in private practice. In her free time, she enjoys puttering in the garden, reading and dreaming of travel.
